Land Acknowledgement
Located in Hamilton, Ontario, we recognize the significance of acknowledging the land on which we operate, paying respect to its history and the Indigenous peoples who have stewarded it for generations.
A Heartfelt Acknowledgment of the Land
By acknowledging the land, we not only show gratitude to God for the gift of creation but also demonstrate respect for the rich heritage and contributions of Indigenous communities. In allignment with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action, this acknowledgment is an act of humility, a step toward healing historical wounds, and a way to reflect God’s call to justice and peace. It is a reminder of our shared responsibility to care for one another and to honor the sacred connection between people and the land.
Redeemed Counselling and Psychotherapy Services acknowledges that our work takes place on the traditional lands of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee , and Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation.
These lands are part of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, a treaty made between Indigenous nations to share and protect the resources of this land in peace and mutual respect and utilizing only that which is necessary.
We honour the history, knowledge, customs, traditions and contributions of Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land for generations. We also recognize the impact of colonization and individuals of our religious community through which great harm was caused to Indigenous communities, families, children and their cultures even till this day.
As part of our commitment to reconciliation, we strive to create an environment of understanding, and respect. This includes working to better understand the needs of Indigenous clients and communities, fostering meaningful connections, and supporting healing and growth.
At Redeemed Counselling and Psychotherapy Services, we aim to walk in harmony with the principles of stewardship and care for the land and all its people. We invite everyone to join us in honoring the history of this land and working towards a more equitable and compassionate future.
